We are seeking a Sr. Director, Consumer Insights & Analytics. ACCO Brands is undergoing a strategic transformation across the globe to move from a traditional office manufacturer to a consumer- and technology-goods company. To achieve this, we must put the consumer at the center of our efforts andthe Senior Director Consumer Insights and Analyticsis a critical/pivotal position to help achieve this transformation. This role will serve a key part of the Chief Marketing Office’s (CMO) Leadership Team and help to shape and then drive this transformation. This leader will be tasked with expanding this function to span insights, CRM, and analytics. Success in this journey requires a strategic, consumer-centric, and digital savvy leader who is comfortable operating as a “player coach”, has proven success developing and leading teams and a passion for the ACCO Brand portfolio. This role reports into the CMO and will manage a team to help execute a successful consumer insights and analytics program.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the go-to thought partner for the CMO that will bring value to the business through insights, strategic thinking, and creative problem solving. Establish uniform volume planning process for North American businesses, inputs inclusive of category calls, price elasticities, distribution and marketing spend activities. 
  • Establish scorecard, learning agenda and recommendations for optimization of the E-Commerce and nascent CRM ecosystems 
  • Develop a consumer learning roadmap across businesses and categories to help drive base and New Product Development growth with a rolling 3–5-year outlook 
  • Design and implement consumer research and business analytics tools and processes to inform and guide key business issues and plans 
  • Play an active leadership role on the Brand Council ensuring brand guidelines are adhered to and all consumer facing communications (inclusive of marketing, packaging, and sales materials) are in compliance withthe defined brand strategy 
  • Play an active role on cross-functional teams related to brand strategy, marketing communications, innovation, and customer activation 
  • Enable fact-based decision-making by providing a guiding voice that advocates for the consumer and the health of the brands and creatively solves for what is possible within business realities 
  • Manage and mentor direct report(s)
  • Minimum 15 years in a strategic insights marketing role; 5+ years in CPG company preferred; Direct retail sector experienced preferred 
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, advanced degree preferred 
  • People leadership experience and team development 
  • Mastery of both Qualitative and Quantitative research methodologies and must possess the ability to apply insights to address business challenges Must demonstrate both analytical and creative thinking abilities 
  • Experience overseeing Marketing Mix Analysis and understanding of Multi-Touch Attribution 
  • Experience with syndicated data sources (NPD, IRI, AC Nielsen) and analytical approaches to category analysis and volume planning to enable holistically about the business 
  • Depth and breadth of experience across all brand communications channels – TV, Social, PR, Influencer, Digital 
  • Experience with off the shelf MarTech SMMS and CRM systems 
  • Experience with NPD research planning and oversight 
  • Ability to help the team uncover powerful emotional consumer & cultural insights, and translate these into successful communication 
  • Experience with and/or passion for purposeful brands and driving/translating purpose in a way that is meaningful and motivating for the consumer 
  • Comfortable with Executive Leadership and helping to influence senior stakeholders as well as cross-capability peer group 
  • Exceptional communicator (verbally and written) - Ability to tell a story, synthesize and convey key messages and present in a visual and compelling way 
  • Ideal candidate will have strong commercialization skills or will have a strong desire to develop these skills 
  • Local candidates only, must be able to work onsite 3 days a week (with Tuesday and Wednesday required – the third day to be determined with manager).
