Job Purpose and Impact:

The Senior Director, Global Sustainability Communications will design and oversee implementation of integrated internal and external communications strategies to build reputation in environmental and social sustainability and support business objectives. In this role, you will operationalize our global communications strategy to ensure prioritization and message alignment and engaging story tellingin a global, matrixed organization. Using creative thinking and deep expertise, you will drive excellence through best practices in Environmental Social Governance external and internal communications, employee engagement and business transformation. You will leverage market insight and your experience to enhance our strategy, content and measurement practices. Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop, define and design internal and external communications strategies to drive awareness, build engagement and earn trust with key stakeholders across the globe.
  • Utilize data and analytics to inform and guide strategic direction through clear outcome-based measurement.
  • Direct the development of an approach for global communications to drive process excellence and performance improvement and proactively assess and approve exceptions to standards.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and influence to ensure global communications leaders and employees are working in an integrated way to deliver high-impact work.
  • Utilize deep experience in internal and external communications to deliver strategic planning and implementation of creative programs to reach target audiences globally and locally.
  • Collaborate with centers of expertise in media relations, issues response, digital and social media, and content and editorial to deliver integrated communications strategies with One Cargill voice.
  • Guide others to execute on multiple projects across multiple global groups, setting and overseeing budgets and resources.
  • Provide strategic leadership, development and talent management activities for direct reports and their organizations, which may include forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training and budgeting. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience with all areas of communications with global scope
  • Minimum of eight years of related work experience, five years of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Management of global teams
  • Brand public relations experience
  • Experience supporting corporate sustainability communications
  • Previous transformation and/or integration experience

Short Description:

This is not a remote role. The preferred location is Wayzata, MN or Minneapolis, MN. Relocation will be offered.
