We are seeking a Sr. Internal Communications Specialist for Bluestem to be located at our office in Eden Prairie, MN and reporting to the Sr. Director of Talent Management. The Sr. Internal Communications Specialist is a key driver of company messaging to all employees. The incumbent is creative in his/her approach, has a keen eye for audience engagement and a passion for driving change through a variety of communications channels. This person is organized and articulate, able to engage with all levels of the organization and navigates well through ambiguity.

What You'll Do:

  • Create internal communications output that informs, engages and inspires employees – collaborate to develop content for key meetings and messages 
  • Partner with the Sr. Director, Talent Management to develop and drive a communication strategy that is consistent and reflects the organization’s strategic vision 
  • Working with leaders, draft and publish timely company information, including, but not limited to messages from Executive Leadership that may cross several mediums 
  • Make thoughtful recommendations on what information should be provided to employees, as well as when and via what mediums the information should flow 
  • Act as the content manager and primary contact person for our enterprise employee-facing portal 
  • Demonstrate excellent critical thinking in developing and following through on effective communication plans and when collaborating with content providers 
  • Refine core messaging and maintain templates to ensure organizational consistency in all aspects of communication 
  • Drive positive change and engagement through consistent framing of messages 
  • Anticipate stakeholder needs associated with various communications, messages and mediums 
  • Demonstrate agility to adjust the communication plan as needed 
  • Support ideas with research and experience 
  • Measure and present results of communication efforts

What You'll Need:

  • 3+ years of experience in a corporate communications or similar role 
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Intermediate-level working knowledge of PowerPoint as a communication tool; Expert-level preferred 
  • Creative thinker and communicator 
  • Agility and adaptability – open to and comfortable with change 
  • Critical thinker – uses logic, reasoning and facts to identify alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems 
  • Resourceful and self-directed 
  • Sense of urgency 
  • Professional demeanor 
  • Some project management experience preferred 
  • Some human resources experience a plus
