Job Overview:

The Sr. Manager Consumer Insights plays a critical role in the research and analysis of market information. Translates research findings into actionable insights that inform the marketing plan of a new product. Represents the consumer in business decisions and identifies opportunities and risks for marketing strategy and product innovation based on consumer needs. Designs and executes market research projects that support brand positioning, product development and usage, advertising development, pricing research, claims research, consumer segmentation, brand perceptions, lifestyle trends, competitive analysis, and larger industry trends.

Responsibilities:

  • Research project manager identifying the business issue by working with the cross functional teams 
  • Project management on the consumer insight team, including but not limited to, working with the vendor, the research process and then presenting it back to internal client 
  • Lead the consumer learning agenda to address business issues and fill knowledge gaps 
  • Design, collect and analyze consumer learning and present it in a straightforward and actionable story 
  • Provide cross-functional teams with consumer insight leadership, acting as knowledge consultant on consumer-related issues 
  • Manage external suppliers to maximize value and complete projects within time and budget 
  • Drive consistency in methods where applicable, establishing best practices, while maintaining agility 
  • Monitor and effectively share relevant macro trends facing the business in a way that piques organization curiosity and helps shape the innovation agenda.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required; MBA strongly preferred 
  • 5-7 years’ previous experience in CPG or supplier side market research with a focus on quantitative primary research methods such as Kantar, TNS, Synovate, BASES 
  • Proficient in the use of both quantitative data sources and qualitative research methods required 
  • Communication skills necessary to convey the qualitative and quantitative data into presentation format required 
  • Strong analytical skills, comfort with triangulating and interpreting data, as well as the ability to present succinct and actionable recommendations required 
  • Excellent planning and project management skills required 
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment is required 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills required
