As the Senior Manager of Internal Communications, you'll play a pivotal role in a connected, engaged, and inspired workforce. Empowered to craft a comprehensive employee communications strategy, you'll align it with the company's vision, values, employee value proposition, Total Rewards philosophy, and community/philanthropic commitments.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading a team of communicators, navigating highly matrixed environments, particularly those with large, decentralized, and manufacturing-focused workforces. Your expertise will be crucial in developing a scalable internal communications program that supports the recruitment, retention and growth of our employees.

You will partner with Marketing, Human Resources, and our businesses to promote the strength of our brands, support our Total Rewards program, talent development process, recruitment efforts, and help build initiatives to recognize employees and enhance engagement. Responsibilities:

  • Management of an internal communications team that is aligned to a comprehensive internal communications strategy that supports the company’s business objectives. 
  • Develop and advance relationships that maximize synergies between cross- functional departments, business units, internal partners and clients to meet business and employee communications objectives. 
  • Build cross-functional relationships with other departments and/or functions to create and execute an internal communications strategy that supports the ongoing needs of the organization to inform, engage, and recognize employees. 
  • Manage all communications channels that facilitate information sharing to the company’s workforce, including the company intranet, corporate social web sites, company meetings and town hall events, traditional electronic communication, and digital communications platforms. Manage program and project budgets vs. forecast. 
  • Track all related expenditures to ensure that they remain consistent to plan. 
  • Define and develop overall strategy to integrate the company’s community and social responsibility commitments into employee culture through programs that encourage volunteerism, philanthropy, and social engagement; closely partner with the Schwan’s Foundation to integrate community initiatives into internal communications strategies. Implement projects for both on-site sponsorships, events (including employee engagement events) and for marketing communication materials. 
  • Responsible for scheduling photo shoots, multi-media materials, interviews and project production associated with all internal communication projects. 
  • Responsible for working with corporate leaders to schedule communication events and develop communication materials.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of Communications experience in a Corporate setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Masters with experience leading and guiding an internal communications team and developing and executing internal communications strategies. 
  • Expertise in developing employer value propositions and brands, creating communications strategies that drive employee retention and Total Rewards awareness, and leading corporate social responsibility initiatives tied to employee participation

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrate leadership; Budget forecasting; Photoshop, page layout programs, advanced ability to write and edit in a manner consistent; demonstrated experience evaluating and negotiating contracts; proven success in conceiving and implementing internal communications strategies with measurable KPIs; advanced written and oral communication and presentation skills, strong project management and organizational skills, MS Office and Outlook products.
