The Sr. Manager of Public Affairs is responsible for developing and executing plans to uphold a positive public image for Self Esteem Brands. This role will serve as the connection between Self Esteem Brands and outside businesses, government agencies, non-profits, and community organizations to better serve the interests of Self Esteem Brands in the public sphere. This role will also maintain media relations and support public outreach for Self Esteem Brands enterprise level news and initiatives.

The ideal candidate for this role will have an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for a purpose driven organization that values the four Ps: People, Purpose, Profits, and Play. This individual will be self-motivated but a strong collaborator able to navigate across multiple cross functional teams and brands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain relationships and serve as main point of contact to government entities, chambers, and professional associations 
  • Lead strategies and plans for activating government and professional association partnerships to represent Self Esteem Brands’ business interests 
  • Establish and maintain media relations while responding to media requests for Self Esteem Brands, in partnership with marketing brand leaders 
  • Provide support and counsel to CEO, President, exec team and others acting as spokespeople for the organization for events and media. 
  • Act as external spokesperson for the company and brands when required (i.e. in crisis situations and/or SEB level public comments) 
  • Provide crisis management guidance, planning and response protocols for Self Esteem Brands and franchisees 
  • Coordinate direction and grant administration for Self Esteem Brand’s charitable foundation 
  • Provide International Masters media relations support and press releases for global news events and communications 
  • Support Franchise Development through the creation and execution of public outreach and content campaigns showcasing SEB leaders as industry leaders

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate 4 year degree or higher required. 
  • 8+ years agency and/or client-side Corporate Communications or PR experience, with franchising / service industry experience a plus. 
  • Solid experience with public relations, media relations, government relations, charitable foundation support, and crisis communications 
  • Impeccable written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal and collaboration skills. 
  • Candidates must be able to work in a collaborative work environment supporting multiple stakeholders 
  • Experience supporting global brands a plus
