Who We Are Looking For:

The Marketing Communications Manager, reporting to the Director of Marketing, is based in Atkore's Harvey, Illinois location. Harvey is located approximately 30 miles from Downtown Chicago. This individual be a key contributor on the corporate marketing team and work with assigned business unit to develop and execute marketing communication programs, collateral, and events that support strategic marketing initiatives. Key aspects of this multifaceted role include critical interpretation of business needs into marketing plans, project management, creative thinking, problem solving, vendor management, collateral creation, and new product commercialization. This position works closely with key business stakeholders, engineers, and outside vendors, which requires strong relationship building and negotiation capabilities. A proven ability to balance wide bandwidth and project depth is needed.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with PVC Conduit, HDPE Conduit, Metal Framing, Mechanical Pipe, and Security business units to synthesize marketing needs, create marketing plans, and drive activity throughout the year 
  • Develop commercialization plans for new product and digital tools in partnership with product managers 
  • Leverage standard work for message mapping to clearly articulate value propositions 
  • Proactively manage vendor relationships with effective project management, negotiations, and contract development 
  • Author and edit sales enablement collateral and other marketing assets to promote products and company 
  • Manage and participate in tradeshows to support sales and marketing efforts 
  • Prepare presentations geared towards internal/external customers 
  • Manage marketing budget on behalf of internal customers 
  • Develop and maintain website content for product brand specific sites 
  • Develop and maintain training module programs 
  • Manage social media content to ensure company branding and consistency is maintained across all platforms 
  • Analyze primary and secondary research to develop effective marketing strategy and present to stakeholders

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or other relevant discipline required 
  • 7-10 years of experience developing and executing communications strategies, programs, collateral, and events that support Business Unit and Corporate marketing objectives. 
  • Proficient and functional knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Powerpoint and Excel 
  • Excellent researching abilities (with a special focus on internet researching).

Within 3 Months, You’ll:

  • Know your peers and have built relationships with key stakeholders.
  •  More importantly, you’ll be living our values as well as how to navigate the Atkore Business System.

Within 6 Months, You’ll:

  • Be a key contributor to internal business projects and corporate marketing-driven projects 
  • Understand the internal businesses you’ll be supporting intimately and develop a roadmap to help reach their marketing goals.

Within 12 Months, You’ll:

  • Be able to direct the internal businesses on marketing strategy. 
  • Be able to synthesize needs across internal businesses to align with our customers.
