We are seeking a Marketing Communications Manager who will manage communication strategy and support to educate consumers about their pharmacy care services. This Marketing Communications Manager will build relationships with key stakeholders and drive change toward a more consumer-centric approach in the content and design of consumer communications supporting specialty pharmacy and other programs across all lines of OptumRx business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop content, copy and messaging for specialty and other consumer communications and touchpoints, based on strategy 
  • Collaborate with applicable stakeholders to help define their communications needs and preferences (e.g., business objectives or issues to be addressed, desired outcomes, root cause analysis) 
  • Critically review existing and new member communications and provide recommendations to ensure communications needs are met 
  • Develop, maintain, manage documentation to support direct marketing campaign launches as required 
  • Documentation responsibilities include developing and managing timelines, providing instruction for accurate data pulls, production coordination and driving on-time deployments. 
  • Design and execute tests that support key hypotheses and deliver actionable learnings that contribute to business growth 
  • Collaborate with applicable stakeholders to help define their communications needs and preferences while still aligning to the needs of the business (e.g., business objectives or issues to be addressed, desired outcomes, root cause analysis) 
  • Serve as project manager for marketing communications projects including establishing project plans, determine milestones and meet deadlines 
  • Anticipate internal and external customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them 
  • Revise and update communications content and approach as needed, based on established metrics and feedback processes 
  • Serve as a liaison to identify and align communications efforts across organizational lines 
  • Serve as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues in areas of expertise

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree 
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing communications 
  • Familiarity with consumer experience mapping and analysis 
  • 5+ years of experience demonstrating effective writing skills (consumer-centric content writing and review, healthcare literacy, touchpoint optimization, creating reports and status updates, preparing overview presentations) 
  • 3+ years of cross-functional project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Effective presentation skills in both formal and informal settings 
  • Cross-functional experience working in a complex, matrix organization 
  • Ability to problem solve and apply critical-thinking skills 
  • Experience writing in a highly regulated environment 
  • Flexible and willing to adapt to shifting priorities 
  • Highly organized and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines 
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and familiarity with InDesign and Workfront 
  • Healthcare communications experience
