Overview:

This position is responsible for the leading the development of marketing materials for our brand and program offerings, overseeing the entire process from concept through finished piece. It would include partnering and collaborating with brand strategists and internal business/channel owners to develop, manage and maintain quality communications in building the brand, driving the business and supporting the needs of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner and collaborate with brand strategists and internal business and channel owners to develop, manage and maintain quality communications to build the brand, drive the business and support the needs of the organization. 
  • Lead development of materials across various disciplines – print, web, digital advertising, OOH, collateral, etc. – within multiple campaigns and evergreen efforts. 
  • Work with copywriter and lead designer in development of materials to be sure the content and design work together to deliver impactful, compelling creative that meets the business and communications goals. 
  • Lead, mentor, coach and inspire creative team and the work produced for clients, fostering collaboration across disciplines. 
  • Lead the presentation of the team’s creative product and rationale 
  • Oversees creative consultations with account teams to assure appropriate creative strategies, adequacy/accuracy of input, schedules, budgets, production support, necessary reviews, and client presentations. 
  • Maintains external professional relationships to assure the ongoing availability of specialized expertise, gifted freelancers, and reputable studios/producers when their services are required. 
  • Collaborate with clients to understand the business need and opportunities and determine objectives, budget, timing expectations, background information, competitive scape and deliverables. 
  • Enhance department and team reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. 
  • Work closely with lead project manager(s) to prioritize, schedule and monitor all projects and deliverables. 
  • Provide accurate time and cost estimates for each project/deliverable. 
  • Commission specialists, such as artists and photographers, to work on projects. 
  • Manage our internal and external resources, conscious of schedules, workload and budget. 
  • Manage Brand assets in all systems(brand guidelines, DAM, Print-on-demand, etc.). 
  • Lead the annual review of our creative talent, infrastructure, processes and roles. 
  • Lead brand on-boarding for for our talent, as well as contract/agency resources use by other teams in the Marketing Department.
  • Be responsible for overall management of our archiving system, DAM, workflow and processes.
  • Perform/accomplish additional initiatives as directed by Creative Director.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required, Masters preferred
  • 8-10 years’ experience in an agency environment; minimum 5 years’ experience in an art director role, or equivalent supervisory experience
  • Have excellent skills in Adobe Creative Suite; skills in video editing, CGI, Flash, html a plus
  • Be highly creative and have a great portfolio
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically in order to provide marketable solutions in conceiving, developing, and producing tactics
  • Passion for design and branding while keeping up with industry trends
  • Ability to produce creative results independently as well as collaboratively
  • Meticulous attention to detail and overall commitment to quality
  • Well-developed communication skills including ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale to other team members and clients
  • Ability to see other people's point of view and collaboratively discuss common solutions
  • Proficient in all phases of the design process, including concepting, development, implementation, and production
  • Have a thorough understanding of photography, typography and printing
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to lead a team, collaborate with partner teams and interact with colleagues at all levels
  • Ability to see the broader picture and to coordinate effectively
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Be highly motivated, well organized and able to receive constructive criticism well
  • Comprehensive computer photo-retouching and image development skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple assignments at one time
  • Diplomacy and sensitivity when working with designers and other creative development partners
