Primary responsibility of this position is to drive innovation and new product development processes across market segments for the organization, execute product changes throughout the product lifecycle, manage the maintenance of current product portfolios and processes around sunsetting/obsolesces of products. The role will include the management of a product marketing team, close collaboration with cross functional teams. Ideal candidate will have proven expertise carrying out these activities and will ensure they align with launch timelines, as well as with business strategic initiatives and objectives.

Driving Performance:

  • Responsible for overseeing product/portfolio management to position Andis as “the leading” brand in the market. 
  • Oversees and manages key segments product line life, with insights driven recommendations to building a long-term product roadmap for each channel. 
  • Specifies market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers. 
  • Collaborates with internal teams to help drive the product development process. 
  • Manages the documentation that drives the product development, product modification and product obsoleting activities. 
  • Oversees Product Marketing team, works closely with marketing communications, engineering, sales, packaging engineering, sourcing,procurement and production teams. 
  • Collaborates regularly with sales to incorporate volume projections and timing and engineering to define product release requirements. 
  • Acts as project manager to ensure timely action on activities related to the process. 
  • Works closely with sourcing team to ensure product partners are delivering components or finished goods in line with marketing expectations. 
  • Actively monitors the product line for under-performing products and makes recommendations for product changes to bring the product in line with company expectations for profitability.

Product Research:

  • Develops, conducts and utilizes market research to learn customer needs, desires and competitor information as well as technology trends. 
  • Conducts market analysis and business case development for portfolio, including NPD, product improvements, maintenance and sunsetting. 
  • Responsible for research and investigation of consumer trends, usability, field testing and collaboration with Brand team and R&D on industry or adjacent category innovations. 
  • Must be able to leverage learnings and data to drive NPD resulting in category leadership. 
  • Helps drive organization to be customer focused and market driven.
  •  Must possess keen ability to analyze market share and competitive data that impact and influence business decisions. 
  • Develops and maintains files on each significant competitor across all channels within a specified product category. 
  • Monitors key indicators related to the health of the competitors’ organizations, go to market strategies and product portfolios. 
  • Responsible for communicating product related news to the organization and sales force including new product announcements, competitive advantages and updates or information related to the discontinuation of
  • skus or categories. 
  • Gathers critical data such as UPC codes, pricing, packaging dimensions, launch dates, related campaigns, necessary to launch and communicate product offerings and updates.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Management or a related field.
  • 8-15 years of product marketing experience, preferably with consumer products.
  • Consumer electronics experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Some leadership experience is necessary.
  • This position will have direct reports.
  • Must be able to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to change.
  • Some domestic and international travel is required.
