Do you enjoy creating digital content that’s relevant, on-brand, and user-focused? Can you balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, including global audiences? Are you comfortable working strategically, creatively, and collaboratively — often at the same time? We should talk. Medtronic is looking for a Sr. Content Strategy Specialist to be part of our Global Digital team. The person in this role will provide guidance and support to internal partners as they create content for Medtronic.com. Tasks include content strategy, assessment, and development. The content strategist must be highly organized with an understanding of how to structure content within the platform, within sections, and on each web page. Although copywriting is not a main responsibility, the content strategist should be able to write user-friendly digital content and edit the work of writers when needed. This position requires strong skills at building cross-functional partnerships, collaborating, and multi-tasking.

A Day in the Life.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform content assessments and develop a plan for adding new pages or sections on Medtronic.com 
  • Work in tandem with digital team members to identify opportunities for improvement in the user experience by modifying, removing, or adding content 
  • Serve in a consultative capacity with partners across all business units and geographies 
  • Write or oversee the development of search engine optimized content that is relevant and useful to the intended audience and meets regulatory and legal guidelines 
  • Prepare or oversee the development of meta data for web pages and assets 
  • Maintain brand consistency 
  • Make updates to websites using a content management system for minor edits and coordinating with web developers for all other updates 
  • Manage multiple projects from concept to completion within the allotted time frames and aggressive deadlines

Must Have: Minimum Requirements - 

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 4+ years digital content writing experience with a bachelor’s degree; or, 2+ years with an advanced degree

Nice to Have:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a content strategist 
  • Experience working in a regulated industry 
  • Experience working on large-scare sites 
  • Experience writing user-friendly content that adheres to brand standards and compliance regulations 
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking in digital media 
  • Demonstrated understanding of information architecture, user experience, digital marketing 
  • Experience with site search, taxonomy, meta data, structured content, and SEO 
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and proven ability to prioritize, organize, schedule, self-manage, and coordinate projects
