Primary Responsibilities:

HDR’s Minneapolis office is seeking a Project Assistant with the skills and desire to support HDR-led strategic communications activities throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. This person will assist the Strategic Communications team with logistics planning for events, managing stakeholder lists, comment logging and reporting, administering social media posts and online surveys, and general office organization. This position will support to several projects and clients within the architecture and engineering industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Logistics planning for public meetings, training, special events, focus groups, workshops, advisory committees, and other meetings 
  • Developing email content and invitations 
  • Monitoring/tracking attendance and maintaining database contact information 
  • Managing task lists, distribution lists, and reporting 
  • Researching industry trends, stakeholders, and policy 
  • Uploading and managing documents on multiple websites 
  • Organizing office and project information and materials 
  • Delivering materials to clients within the Twin Cities metropolitan area 
  • Social media and online survey administration 
  • Providing staff support at public engagement events

Required Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills 
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Service oriented personality with the ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines 
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) 
  • Associate’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, project management, business administration, or closely related field, or three years relevant work experience 
  • Valid Class D driver’s license 
  • Willingness to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the architecture and engineering industry 
  • Demonstrated experience with public outreach, community relations, or event planning 
  • Preference given to local candidates
