The Wisconsin Union Marketing/Communications Department supports the operational, administrative and program/service marketing and communication goals of the Student Leadership and Engagement division of Student Affairs. This includes Center for Leadership and Involvement, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Student Affairs Advancement, The Wisconsin Union, and UW Conference Centers.
The Student Engagement Marketing Specialist position supports both administrative offices and student led events and programs. Responsibilities include creating marketing, advertising and communication materials and campaigns for the offices of Community Engagement, Fraternity and Sorority Life and Center for Leadership and Involvement. This position also provides training, advising, and mentoring, to student leaders on marketing/advertising best practices that support the student-led events and programs of the Wisconsin Union Directorate, Wisconsin Singers and the Homecoming Committee.
Along with other marketing/communications team members, this position participates in the planning and execution of seasonal community-wide events and initiatives including but not limited to Wisconsin Welcome Week, Badger Bash, Terrace season, Winter Carnival, Commencement weekend.
The position reports to the Wisconsin Union Director of Marketing and works collaboratively with student leaders, advisors, managers, and other unit personnel within the respective areas.
