The User Interface & Experience (UI/UX) Designer serves as a key contributor in translating high-level roadmap requirements into engaging digital experiences for Generac dealers and customers leveraging our connected products. This individual excels at providing both highly analytical as well as highly creative ideas to a design engagement.

The UI/UX Designer reports into the Connectivity Director Product Management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and other key stakeholders through interviews, observations, and research.
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and wireframes.
  • Design graphic user interface elements including menus, tabs and widgets
  • Maintain style guide/design systems in alignment with broader Generac design guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, UX Design, Web Design, Human Factors, or related degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years experience including prior experience in commercial software development for both mobile and desktop applications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge of Motion graphics design and production, Android and iOS devices
  • Experience with user interface design patterns and standard UCD methodologies
  • Experience working cross-functionally and with a global team

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
  • Proficient with flow chart tools such as Draw.io or Miro
  • Proficient with prototyping tools such as InVision, Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
  • Ability to execute interaction design as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to consult with internal customers and own experience design decisions
  • Ability to collaborate on user experience planning with solution architect
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
