Coloplast has an exciting opportunity for an Upstream Marketing Manager to join our growing team! The role supports our North American Wound and Skin Care portfolio. It is based in Minneapolis, MN.

The role will be responsible for ensuring we are consistently listening and responding to customers in product development and portfolio life cycle management. This will involve leading market research, customer advisory boards, and developing forecasts and business cases. This position will partner closely with colleagues in Global Marketing (based in Denmark) and Operations (based in Mankato, MN) to provide customer input to drive product development and portfolio expansion plans that meet business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop key relationships with industry/market thought leaders, organizations, and institutions, in collaboration with other marketing leaders. 
  • Organize and execute advisory boards to obtain customer input on strategic projects. 
  • Utilize all methods to develop a product pipeline and drive the commercial requirements (customer, product, and business needs) on new product development programs. 
  • Analyzes unmet needs to identify product and service opportunities. Able to summarize qualitative and quantitative studies, drawing actionable conclusions for the business. 
  • Identifies market trends and proactively adjusts strategy based on environment. 
  • Evaluates the products, services and markets of multiple competitors. 
  • Develops forecasts and business cases and pricing recommendations. 
  • Interface regularly with customers and sales team through travel, healthcare associations, and symposia, and hospital sites to better understand and deliver against customer needs. 
  • Presents conclusions and recommendations to executive leadership in a concise and compelling manner.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications or other relevant field of study 
  • MBA preferred 
  • 4+ years successful experience in marketing or marketing communications 
  • Experience working with customers 
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrate ability to influence and negotiate both internally and externally 
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and support multiple projects, prioritize & drive results
