Carlson Rezidor is embarking on a strategic digital agenda aimed at transforming the way we engage with guests throughout their travel experience. We see digital technologies as powerful tools to help millions of guests plan their travel, enjoy their stay, and keep connected post stay. We are looking for a user experience designer responsible for conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, wireframes and prototypes at a global level. You will also design the overall functionality of the product and iterate upon it to ensure a great user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

User experience design direction:

  • Create world-class user interfaces and visual designs from concept to execution for desktop solutions, web-based products and mobile applications 
  • Translate conceptual concepts into wireframes and mockups that lead to intuitive user experiences 
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user journeys, and layouts optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces 
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions 
  • Make strategic design and UX decisions related to core, and new, functions and features 
  • Assumes leadership role for building UX pattern library, style guide, and visual design guidelines 
  • Translate complex technical and business requirements into research

User experience design:

  • Facilitate product visions by researching, conceiving, wireframing, sketching, prototyping, and mocking up UI experiences for digital products. 
  • Rapidly test and iterate your designs based off of user research and site metrics. 
  • Create wireframes, flows, functional specs and prototypes 
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of an reusable asset library (templates, patterns and components) 
  • Coach global deployment leads and strategists to ensure understanding and accurate communication of UX with countries and agencies.

User experience management and advocacy throughout the organization:

  • Collaborate with other team members and global stakeholders 
  • Select and manage agency resources and internal team members 
  • Support multiple projects in parallel; organize and manage assignments in a dynamic, diverse environment 
  • Work with global stakeholders to understand business and user problems. 
  • Work with multiple partners to complete user experiences that lead to profitable results 
  • Take smart risks and champion new ideas 
  • Be fearless about driving new ideas, and finding beautiful and powerful ways to communicate them 
  • Research and showcase knowledge in the industry’s latest trends and technologies.

Requirements/Skills:

  • 6+ years of UX design experience, across adaptive web and app 
  • Experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments, preferred 
  • Expertise in UX software such as InVision, Balsamiq, Framer.js, Quartz Composer, and the like, required. 
  • Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills, preferred 
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design 
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies, subsystems, and usability and accessibility concerns 
  • Ability to iterate your designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently 
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients 
  • A clear understanding of the importance of user-centered design 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to clearly present analysis and results 
  • Experience in system and modular design a plus (or otherwise experience building complex user flows) 
  • Experience working in an agile environment, preferred 
  • Experience writing and organizing design documentation, preferred 
  • A self-starter with minimal need for day-to-day direction 
  • Detail oriented and well organized 
  • Knowledge of Confluence and JIRA, preferred 
  • Ability to adapt graciously to changing business conditions and priorities
