The UX Designer is at the core of our web application, analytics and user research process. We believe in putting the user first in all web strategy decisions. You’ll work closely with designers and account managers to dream, scheme and build websites that work equally as well for business needs and users. Note: This is not a UI design position.

This position does not require that you live in Madison, WI.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Strategy Setting

  • Establish business, user and digital goals for website projects and digital campaigns. 
  • Establish measurement plans and metrics for digital projects. 
  • Create and present competitive analysis. 
  • Provide the digital perspective on concepting of campaigns that involve digital social or display media outlets. This involves content concepting with Creative personnel. 

Analytics

  • Interpret and add insight to Google Analytics reports. 
  • Provide training on an as-needed basis for clients and KW2 employees. 

Digital Media

  • Have an understanding of Google and Bing platforms for paid search advertising campaigns. 

User Research

  • Develop and adds insights to primary research (interviews, focus groups) tactics that fit client and project goals. 
  • Develop personas for use in planning and testing websites. 
  • Develop related user documents such as mental models, use case scenarios, etc. 

Information Architecture

  • Content mapping, including system information such as databases and related inputs to the CMS. 
  • Document existing sitemap and recommend new site map. 
  • Create a strategic and organized taxonomy for new website initiatives. 
  • Recommend new labeling that matches how primary and secondary users of websites would recognize these terms. 
  • Develop wireframes for each unique content template type as identified in early stages of Planning. 
  • Create annotated wireframes that show user-facing functionality. 
  • Create annotated wireframes for how content management system (CMS) will function for content administrators. 

Creative and Design Reviews

  • Attend design concepting reviews on an as-needed basis. Provide user experience insights and recommendations based on overall strategic direction of the project. 

Content Strategy

  • Lead content strategy phase of website redesigns and proactively offer ideas for content types that are strategically sound for a website project. 

User testing

  • Provide input on websites that are in the testing environment. 
  • Lead primary user research related to web applications and user experience.
  • User-centered perspective: Users are at the center of amazing website and application experiences. Integrate UX principles with existing and future user needs and apply them to achieve our clients’ objectives. 
  • Consistently demonstrates follow through and expedient execution of multiple tasks simultaneously 
  • Google Analytics certification 
  • Prototyping: UX is an interative process and you understand that collaboration is at the center of prototyping great UX and design solutions 
  • You display a strong attention to detail, organizational skills and problem-solving You have an understanding of the UX role inan agency and its relationships with clients 
  • You are a self-starter and have the ability to anticipate project needs, internal or client-related issues 
  • Proficient software skills, including Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and website prototyping software. Sketch and Invision experience preferred. Superior communication and interpersonal skills 3+ years of creating digital experiences for website users Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in UX, marketing or communications preferred
