Life Technology Solutions (LTS) is a practice within Milliman, one of the largest actuarial consulting firms in the world. Our system, Integrate, is a market-leading application used throughout the life insurance industry for activities such as financial modelling and reporting, business planning and reporting, and insurance product pricing.

Our innovative cloud-hosted product Integrate uses Microsoft Azure for large-scale financial modelling and reporting calculations, making us the leading actuarial Microsoft Azure Partner and one of the largest worldwide users of cloud computing services.

Who We Are Looking For

Are you smart, passionate, and looking to affect real change in the industry? Then we are looking for you!

Responsibilities

  • User Research: Conduct user research to understand the needs, pain points, and goals of actuarial professionals using our platforms. This includes planning and executing user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and other research methods. 
  • Data Analysis: Analyze research data to derive insights and actionable recommendations. You will work with both quantitative and qualitative data to identify user trends, preferences, and pain points. 
  • Persona Development: Contribute to the development of user personas that will guide product design and development efforts. Create detailed profiles of typical users to inform design decisions. 
  • Usability Testing: Assist in planning and conducting usability tests, providing input on test plans, and observing users interacting with our software to identify usability issues.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and developers, to translate user insights into actionable design recommendations and improvements. 
  • Documentation: Prepare and present research findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner. Help maintain documentation and knowledge repositories for research findings. 
  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging UX research methodologies, and contribute new ideas to improve our research processes.

Required

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in a related field, such as HCI, Psychology, Human Factors, Design, or a similar discipline. 
  • A strong passion for user-centered design and an interest in SaaS applications. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when necessary. 
  • Familiarity with UX research tools and software (e.g., user testing platforms, survey tools, data analysis software). 
  • Interest for technology and shaping the future of the Life Technology Solutions products

Candidates hired into this role will be required to work in-person in the Milliman office in Chicago, IL on a weekly basis, but flexible work arrangements will be considered.
