Job Function Summary:

Reporting to the SVP Chronic Care, this position is responsible for the Marketing function for Coloplast’s Ostomy and Continence Care Businesses in the US. This highly visible role will lead marketing efforts targeting all stakeholders in the US healthcare ecosystem – Payors, Providers and Consumers. The VP will do this by leading strategic marketing efforts for the company, including development of business area strategies, marketing plans, business insight and market analysis, brand development, and communications.

This position will lead a marketing function comprised of teams focused on downstream marketing in Ostomy and Continence care, consumer marketing, medical marketing and marketing communications. The VP will also work closely with the Sales, Market Access and Consumer organizations in achieving revenue and profit targets and increasing shareholder value. Finally, the VP will also develop relationships with key customers, opinion leaders, sales professionals and management to obtain and provide technical, professional and managerial support for products to increase awareness and maximize sales and profits.

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Lead development, implementation and execution of US marketing strategies and plans 
  • Responsible for all US marketing activities for Coloplast’s Ostomy and Continence Care Businesses, across all stakeholders in the Healthcare ecosystem – Payors, Providers and Consumers. 
  • Establish and lead cross-functional product launch and lifecycle management efforts involving Innovation, Regulatory Affairs, and Legal to define, develop, register, manufacture and market Coloplast products in the US. 
  • Establish and implement short and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures. 
  • Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the business. 
  • Work with sales functions to develop or identify new product opportunities and bring them to commercialization. 
  • Develop relationships with customers, opinion leaders and form internal cross-functional teams to obtain and provide technical, professional and managerial support for our products. 
  • Coach, develop and manage the marketing team across disciplines of downstream marketing, upstream marketing, consumer marketing, marketing communications and events management. 
  • Participate in international and corporate strategy and business development initiatives

Essential Qualifications:

  • MBA in marketing or business development
  • 10 plus years of demonstrated high level of achievement in Marketing/Sales in medical device, medical supplies or consumer healthcare
  • History of strong personnel development as well as key employee development and retention 
  • Proven track record in business development with experience in managing multiple, simultaneous new product launches 
  • Conceptual, strategic planning and analytical skills with demonstrated product line success and growth 
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to inspire vision through oral and written communication 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Creative, innovative and problem solver 
  • Travel required 25%+
