Position Highlights:

The Video Producer & Editor will be responsible for leading the creative process from conceptualization, production, and editing, for various campaigns and formats. Includes coordinating and managing both in-house production and freelance videographers, and editors ensuring the workflow from pre-production to distribution adheres to high-quality standards. This role requires the ability to comfortably work with executive-level staff conducting high-profile interviews to capture impactful content. Responsibilities encompass overseeing the in-house studio's operation and equipment.

What You’ll Do:

Video Production/Editing

  • Concept, direct, and shoot videos for a variety of audiences with minimal supervision 
  • Plan, facilitate, and operate studio or field-based video production equipment 
  • Effectively apply expertise in lighting, audio recording, casting 
  • Interpret needs and develop creative/technical solutions 
  • Edit video content to create compelling narratives 
  • Incorporate impactful graphics and stock footage to enhance video quality 
  • Meet post-production deadlines consistently, delivering high-quality content 
  • Capable of balancing project creative requirements with schedule, budget, and resource limitations

Campaign Conceptualization and Project Management

  • Plan and manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and a cohesive storytelling approach 
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager and Creative Services, Marketing, Communications, and Content Teams to conceptualize campaigns 
  • Partner with Digital Marketing and Content Teams to plan social video releases 
  • Select, oversee, and collaborate with an array of external video creatives to ensure NSC deadlines are met 
  • Work with the Senior Manager in determining budgets and tracking expenses

Asset Management and Equipment Maintenance

  • Organize and maintain final video assets, ensuring they are easily shared and archived 
  • Maintain a database of source and master program files for efficient retrieval and reuse 
  • Manage the proper use, storage, maintenance, and upgrading of all equipment 
  • Keep a record of all music and talent appearing in a video to ensure proper licensing 
  • Oversee in-house studio’s operation and maintenance of equipment

Other Job Duties

  • Follows safety policies and practices specific to job/position and level. 
  • Ensures shoot locations are safety compliant. 
  • Works according to NSC culture principles.

We’re Looking for Someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years relevant experience or in lieu of a Bachelor's a minimum of seven years of relevant experience 
  • Must demonstrate and possess an understanding of storytelling, design, and editorial processes, as well as the ability to integrate them all with high production value.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in all video formats and delivery systems. 
  • Must be an experienced camera operator, understand lighting, and know how to edit with Premiere CC suite or a similar system. 
  • Must have graphic experience including Adobe suite of products 
  • Demonstrated ability to produce and edit short form, advertising, and documentary style videos 
  • Excellent organizational and self-management skills 
  • Ability to think on feet, multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead production teams 
  • A strong network of production resources 
  • Experience working in a corporate environment is a plus 
  • This is a remote position for the Chicagoland area with roughly 15% travel 
  • Salary range for this role: $65,000 to $75,000
