The videographer is a full-time position within the University Communications and Marketing (UCM) department. This position is responsible for creating high-quality video content and covering the full span of media production. This includes planning, production and editing of video projects for the purpose of admission and recruitment, marketing, social media, and community relations. This position must be able to work independently and primarily collaborates with UCM and Admission and Enrollment departments and reports to the Chief Marketing and Enrollment Officer.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in media production or equivalent 
  • Minimum three-years of experience with video production 
  • Sensitivity toward diversity 
  • Knowledge of closed captioning techniques and equipment 
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suites software (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop Etc.) 
  • Knowledge of video lighting and setups 
  • Knowledge of audio acquisition and editing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A team player mentality is essential as is the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment 
  • Exemplary organizational and project management skills 
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines 
  • Certification as a FAA Remote Pilot for drone operation (preferred) 
  • Work independently and identify potentially more effective methods of work operation 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and collaborative skills 
  • Experience working in a university setting

This is a 12-month, Academic Staff annual appointment, exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, starting around $45,000. The successful applicant must be available to work nights and weekends and have the ability and willingness to drive to the university’s campuses in Wausau and Marshfield as needed.
