Position Summary:

The Videographer/Photographer is responsible for creating and developing visual storytelling across multiple platforms consistent with the Children's Minnesota brand look and feel. This position will work within the growing marketing operations and creative services team, collaborating closely with copywriters, designers and marketing/communications team members to produce videos and photos that support each project's objectives. This includes projects like capturing patient family experiences through personal stories, highlighting sponsored events and community activities, and creating content such as executive interviews for internal communications. This material will be used across channels, including social, website, advertising, email and more. This role requires a broad skill set, creative mindset, and a nimble and flexible work style.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in visual art, film/video production, communications, advertising or related field, or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.

Experience:

  • 4+ years of professional experience both in photography and videography, preferably on staff in a corporate or agency environment
  • Video editing and production expertise
  • Photo editing and general retouching expertise
  • Experience creating content for a variety of audiences
  • Background in managing video channels, libraries, and systems such as YouTube, Vimeo or other digital asset management tools

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Technical expertise in all things video and photo
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • At ease working with children, especially in a hospital environment
  • Confident in working with high-level health care professionals, executives, community leaders and celebrities
  • Excels in fast-paced, unstructured environments such as events
  • Thorough understanding of social media, including production and messaging best practices
  • Ability to capture consistent portrait photography (head shots)
  • Expertise in Adobe CC software, particularly Premiere Pro, Photoshop, but also strong knowledge of After Effects, Audition and Lightroom
  • Ideally comfortable in a PC-based environment, and able to make recommendations about equipment and software needs
  • Exceptional communication skills, tailoring to a variety of communication styles
  • Positive and team-oriented with a collaborative attitude
  • Strategic thinking with a strong work ethic, high energy and innate self-direction
  • Ability to travel between Children's Minnesota locations as well as various events where photography is needed
