Our marketing team is growing and we're looking for motivated designers who are excited by the craft and ready to apply their skills in both digital and traditional design applications. As a Visual Design Specialist, you'll help design the online experiences for Brady's ecommerce websites and offline marketing experiences for end users, distributors and internal sales teams. You'll work collaboratively with marketing, product management and engineering to create visual designs and prototypes that are easy to use and customer-centric. Essential Duties

  • Deliver work consistent with and enforce use of established brand guidelines 
  • Design web pages, collateral, email and advertising that engage the industrial customer
  • Interpret business objectives and market environment to build relevant visuals 
  • Prioritize work assignments based on business objectives 
  • Anticipate needs and work in a fast-paced environment with aggressive deadlines 
  • Coordinate work with globally-distributed internal teams 
  • Test performance of work creative relative to previous work and business objectives 
  • Structure data-heavy content to maximize audience utilization of that content 
  • Thrive in a balance between leading projects and taking direction from others 
  • Remain current on best-in-class design practices for industrial customers 
  • Audit the design and marketing efforts of both competitive and complementary products

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience designing user interfaces for websites and e-commerce. 
  • In lieu of a degree, 5 years of equivalent professional experience is required. 
  • A portfolio of past projects that reflects your passion and skills is required for consideration. 

 

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in User Interface Design, Web Design, Graphic Design or a related field of study 
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat), Sketch and similar graphic design tools 
  • Experience with Invision, Axure RP Pro, AdobeXD, Balsamiq or similar prototyping tools 
  • Track record designing for mobile responsive websites and understanding the implications of designing for multiple devices 
  • Experience creating wireframes and interactive prototypes for user testing and to communicate functionality to stakeholders 
  • Experience building emails and adjusting those emails over time based on data monitoring 
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Adobe (Omniture) Analytics 
  • Proven ability in requirements analysis, including the ability to identify risks and potential alternatives for specific feature requests 
  • Coordinating photo shoots and pushing resources for output that enhances brand through effective visuals 
  • Build long-form, data-heavy collateral pieces including product line catalogs 
  • Familiar with digital asset management, metadata tagging and library management (Widen tool usage in past experience a plus) 
  • Working in an agile / iterative work environment (Jira experience is a plus)
