West Monroe is looking for a Designer to join our Visual Design team in Chicago. The person filling this position will work closely with members of our Marketing team, Communications team, and Leadership team, as well as individual practices, to drive visual consistency in our internal and external messaging via excellent design. Specifically, this position will partner with Marketing to better bring their messages to market, create tools and templates to enable resources at all levels to better communicate messages to their clients, and work with corporate communications teams on internal campaigns and programs.

We are looking for someone that can bring passion and creative ideas to the table, and partner strategically with other team members to help achieve goals. This designer will have an opportunity to join a highly effective in-house design team, flex their design skills across many mediums, and get the opportunity to explore different facets of design within a strong, core West Monroe brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key member of the Visual Design team, stewarding and enforcing West Monroe’s brand guidelines across print, digital, social, and web-based channels via excellent design and monitoring these channels 
  • Create highly usable/reusable, on-brand, and creative visuals 
  • Create assets using branded design templates 
  • Perform Quality Assurance checks for assets going into the market 
  • Assist in the visual design and execution of internal strategic programs and rollouts 
  • Perform design quality assurance on proposals, marketing collateral, and deliverables (PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) 
  • Support design education throughout the firm, participating in informal learning sessions on design topics 
  • Add to the West Monroe library of visual design tools, templates, and examples 
  • Act as a brand steward within the marketing team, championing the importance of good visual design and how it can impact our win ratio or delivery capabilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing/Advertising, or related field of study 
  • 1-3 years of experience in visual design, cross-team collaboration 
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage visual design principles around typography, color, and iconography (please include link to or file containing design portfolio) 
  • Experience in representing complex data visually, creation of infographics 
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint – this is a must and we work often in this application) 
  • Experience working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, taking initiative to plan and execute, able to work both independently and within a team environment 
  • Very organized and able to manage time, relationships, schedule multiple meetings, and stay on top of multiple communications, with strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and quality experience
  • Ability to pivot between different types of design tasks throughout the day
