Role Purpose:

This exciting senior-level role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to create compelling thought leadership using Kantar’s rich data and insights. Reporting to Kantar’s North American head of marketing, the VP of Content and Communications (North America) is responsible for leading content strategy and PR initiatives across Kantar within the region. Working with a Director of Content Marketing, a PR agency and a broader team of both regional and global marketers and experts, this role will develop a strategic vision for content, collaborate on execution and measure results.

Duties and responsibilities:

In partnership with local and global marketing and business leaders, develop an overarching content strategy plan to support the growth goals of the business; ensure campaigns and content delivered within the region support the overarching messaging and strategy

Create and implement an annual content calendar for the North American region, incorporating insights and messaging from global and local domain experts

Drive content strategy and deliverables for Kantar’s Marketplace market research platform, working closely with Marketplace business and marketing leads

Coordinate the production of 4-6 cross-divisional content deliverables per year

Collaborate with digital and other marketers on content activation, proposing new ideas for Manage one content marketer initially, with a goal of expanding the team over time

Create a PR strategy and manage PR efforts for the North American region:

  • Collaborate with PR agency on developing material and pitches
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with key journalists and editors
  • Partner with global community of PR managers to co-ordinate execution of campaign plans and wider PR efforts, taking into account global and local priorities
  • Set measures of success, interpret and report performance, and adjust plans if needed.

Personal characteristics and skills:

  • Deep experience creating narratives around complex, data-driven topics through clear and compelling presentations, written overviews, and other formats 
  • Great copywriting skills and a creative edge – with a good instinct on how to bring a story to life. 
  • Resilience and tenacity – able to remain effective and focused and get stuff done! 
  • Highly effective communication and presentation skills 
  • Excellent project and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Communications / PR, with a track record of developing innovative, integrated campaigns and content across owned and earned media channels 
  • Experience managing content creators and editing deliverables 
  • Experience within the media landscape and/or creative industries.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or degree equivalent 
  • Fluency in English – verbal and written. Additional languages are always helpful.
