The Senior Vice President, Consulting is responsible for account and business management of a portfolio of clients and projects. Provides thought leadership into the strategic direction of business unit. This role is responsible for revenue generation/maintenance, overall client satisfaction, relationship management, and delivering exceptional insight and consulting. Work in partnership with clients and their teams to identify client issues, expectations and requirements and balance them against budget, time and delivery constraints.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Builds and maintains strong client relationships, inspiring confidence in our clients that GfK provides premium fact based consultation. Balance needs of client with what is best for company. Identifies clients’ requirements and expectations. Communicates and consults regularly with clients about their projects.
  • Revenue Generation – Responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities with new and existing clients across the GfK matrix.
  • Creation of impactful reports with detailed and meaningful insights/commentary; presentation of data and insights internally and externally; analysis of data using a variety of tools; direct and mentor others in analysis of data and creation of impactful presentations using FBC principles that provide real value for our clients
  • Lead/participate in cross-company initiatives – change management, new analytical tools, new data tool integration, etc.
  • Responsible for staff performance and management including resource allocation, project oversight, coaching, performance management, development planning, and training.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 12 years within the Market Research industry with 5+ years of experience in an account management role 
  • 5+ years research experience in research specializing in external communications strategy and public relations, issues management, public thought leadership and reputation measurement
  • Broad level of experience in dealing with clients, complex projects and market studies
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize news, current events or trends in the United States and around the world into new insights and recommendations wrapped in a compelling story for presentation to clients
  • Proven ability in delivering new business in a consultative environment
  • Demonstrated ability in project management and business writing, with an overall “big picture” understanding of the issues and business in general; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent client service orientation: great social poise and persuasive communication skills to work effectively with different personalities plus the drive to deliver high-quality results to wow clients and earn their respect and recognition
  • Strong collaborative spirit and behavior. 
  • Interfaces well with others and in a team setting. Works toward team goals and participates actively and supportively in team decisions.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to work in a collaborative environment; strong work ethic
  • Applicants should be well-versed in MS office applications (especially PowerPoint & Excel)
  • Experience with all multiple research methodologies and approaches – ideally probabilistic sampling and using digital tools for research

Education:

  • BA or BS in social sciences, statistics, or related field. Masters or PhD a plus.
