The American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT) is looking for a project management specialist who understands how things interact in a digital world. A successful candidate will serve as an advocate for ASGCT as they manage third-party vendors to work together in support of the Society’s mission. You don’t need to know how to code, but should able to communicate with development teams and be conceptually comfortable integrating APIs between sites and databases. This role reports to the director of communications, and will work closely with internal marketing, communications, membership, and meetings teams in addition to external vendors.

Manage projects with multiple vendors and advocate for ASGCT by leading scope sessions, working with internal teams to define milestones and tasks, creation of project and communications plans, lead project meetings, track issues/status, and report on progress

Coordinate activities of internal resources and third parties/vendors Ensure seamless integration of the database with the website and other platforms/applications

Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

Monitor industry standards and techniques to recommend changes to ensure effective use of the website to achieve the Society’s goals

Maintain, and optimize association management software (AMS) database (iMIS) in coordination with membership manager and third-party vendor

Responsible for understanding user experience design for Society websites, mobile apps, and applications and instructing vendors to meet expectations

Manage website upkeep and support tickets to development team

Scale ecommerce functionality beyond membership and into registrations, products, and other revenue-generating opportunities

Deliver projects on-time and within budget, adjusting for new requirements while managing changes and expectations

Diagnose system/process problems and implement fixes through new functionality to enhance capabilities

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, information technologies, or another related field
  • Two-to-four years of relevant experience in project management and platform integrations
  • Experience with Kentico or another professional-level CMS 
  • An understanding of membership and contact databases, iMIS preferred
  • Familiarity with integrating sites, tools and databases using APIs
  • Organizational and project management skills, with acute attention to detail, time management, and multiple deadlines
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva is a plus
  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • Individual may be expected to attend events planned and hosted by ASGCT 
  • Travel of up to 2 weeks per year
