The Shepherd Express is the largest locally owned newspaper in the State of Wisconsin. Covering local news, arts, culture, politics and entertainment since 1982, the Shepherd Express is devoted to bettering our community and enriching our readers through uncommon news coverage and honest writing. If you believe in fighting for things like social justice, environmental protections, civil rights, women’s rights and building a rational and fair community, and want to work for an institution that shares your values, please consider the Shepherd Express.
Locally owned and published by Editor Louis Fortis, the Shepherd Express has thrived and grown into the most trusted source of news for over 240,000 readers in the greater Milwaukee area (Milwaukee, Washington, Waukesha, Ozaukee and Racine counties). The Shepherd Express is willing to challenge entrenched special interests. Our readers, according to Media Audit, are better educated and more involved than the average person, and they appreciate and support an ethical and smart local news source. We distribute monthly to more than 800 high-traffic locations in the five-county area.
