Division Information:

Spectrum Brands utilizes a Shared Services model that enables resources to be leveraged across the organization. The Shared Services team is made up of information technology, human resources, indirect sourcing, finance & accounting professionals that support all business units. Shared services teams are headquartered in Middleton, Wisconsin but have members across the country.

Job Summary:

The Website Content Specialist (aka: Digital Operations Specialist) will focus on the organization, maintenance, and consistency of our branded digital properties and programs while ensuring alignment with the overall corporate and brand objectives. As a member of the Digital Consumer Experience (DCX) Team, the Digital Operations Coordinator will work collaboratively with DCX teams (Digital Marketing, Digital Production, Digital Design), Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Channel Marketing, IT, HR, Legal, Sales, and other third party partners to implement digital and online marketing initiatives for all Spectrum Brands divisions.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • (20%) Research and advocate best practices in user experience, website optimization, and digital marketing. Research industry best practices and trends as applicable for digital projects. Recommend ways to advance our overall Digital Operations Team capabilities. 
  • (40%) Manage and maintain product catalogs using appropriate tools including product information management systems, content management systems, ecommerce framework, and Excel. Tasks will include adding new products and editing existing ones. 
  • (10%) Utilize CMS platforms to update website assets and content, and create landing pages. 
  • (10%) Coordinate email marketing execution using email marketing software and related tools while working to increase key performance indicators. 
  • (10%) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize reach of web content efforts and ensure alignment across channels and teams.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for digital marketing best practices, and internal processes and systems related to digital marketing (e.g., CMS, email, analytics tools). 
  • Implement optimizations from digital marketing to increase site traffic, maximize conversion rates, and deliver exceptional user experiences. 
  • Contribute ideas and/or perform tasks around SEO, A/B testing, landing page optimization, and email optimization. 
  • Provide reporting and insights using analytics software and by implementing proper tracking protocols for digital campaigns. 
  • Assist in building email databases as outlined by Digital Marketing Managers and Brand Managers. 
  • Streamline email marketing production and execution by using templates and identifying new opportunities. 
  • Partner with web developers to assess and resolve any technical challenges in displaying content including speed optimizations and mobile-first design. 
  • Utilize existing brand and site guidelines to execute digital requests.

Education and Experience Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing or related field or equivalent work experience. 
  • 2-4 years marketing experience preferably related to website management. 
  • Proficiency with HTML, understanding of CSS.
