This position reports to the Executive Director of Marketing and University Communication and leads and participates in the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of websites. Serves as a subject matter expert, consultant, and main point of contact to internal and external stakeholders regarding website support. The Web Operations Manager is a member of the Office of Marketing and University Communication and reports to the Executive Director of Marketing and University Communication. The role collaborates heavily with the Web Development Team in IT.

The Office of Marketing and University Communication brings UW-Green Bay’s story to life in creative and compelling ways, honoring brand identity and standards, and at the same time, assuring communications effectively speak to varying target audiences. Utilizing a strategic mix of traditional and emerging marketing and communication channels, the team utilizes an integrated approach that considers both marketing and communication strategies, while collaborating with University and community subject matter experts to highlight UW-Green Bay students, faculty, staff, alumni and academic programs that are on the rise and making a difference in our region.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Plans, implements, manages, monitors, and upgrades the unit's websites including intranets.
  • Ensures website functionality and maintains existing website operation including implementing the content management system (CMS), making content updates, conducting content audits, and updating computer programming languages which may include HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Responds and troubleshoots website issues. 
  • Ensures website quality, efficiency, and compliance with accessibility, security, privacy, and other university requirements and laws. 
  • Strategizes ways to improve the user experience of the website and manages information architecture strategy. 
  • Monitors web traffic and website performance, and assesses performance to optimize the website and to identify, prevent, and resolve issues. 
  • Collaborates with others to ensure that the website aligns with brand strategy and meets the unit's standards. 
  • Provide User training on website development and maintenance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree at time of application 
  • Working knowledge of desktop hardware and standard business software programs and the Internet 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree in Design, Web Development or related field 
  • Demonstrated ability in using HTML; HTMLS, JavaScript, JQuery and CSS Jo develop websites based on provided graphical designs 
  • Experience implementing and using Responsive WebDesign. 
  • Knowledge of Web accessibility standards and usability practices. 
  • Knowledge of browser behaviors including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and other emerging web browsers, including mobile devices. 
  • Experience integrating social media such as Facebbok and Twitter using APis. 
  • Experience with web programming languages such as ASP.fi.JET and PHP or willingness to learn 
  • Experience in the use and setup of Google Analytics accounts and reporting features
  • Experience in the use and support of a content management system

 

Salary:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
