We are looking for a writer who can concept, craft, and produce creative ideas across our client roster and new business efforts. You will be part of a small-and-mighty creative team that supports our client roster and internal team across all media. Every week will be different from the next with a variety of creative projects like print/tv campaigns, new business pitches, digital/social content, media kits, brand strategy/identity, product launches, events/tradeshows, etc. all while maintaining the continuity and integrity of the Gunpowder Inc. brand.

As the Writer, you will creatively interpret strategy into big ideas and written communication. You think conceptually, are “hands-on” and want to be part of a thriving start-up agency.

You are eternally curious. You are passionate about the outdoors, eager to touch several brands, while flexible enough to switch gears in support of new projects & clients. You are a creative & concept-driven thinker, poised to provide unique solutions to essential business challenges that our clients may be facing at any given moment.

Our client base is largely made up of enthusiast or lifestyle brands that connect with people on an emotional level. Many of them are in the outdoors industry. As such, most of our work requires us to really care about the categories in which we participate.

  • A creative problem solver for our clients, you are comfortable of interpreting creative direction and executing ideas across multiple channels 
  • Produce written materials in a variety of formats, including print collateral (print ads, OOH, press materials, brochures, etc.), website and social/digital content, and TV and radio scripts in a way that resonates with the target audience 
  • Successfully present creative ideas, their rationale, and the specifics of the solutions to our clients and new business prospects 
  • Work closely with internal teams to participate in all stages of the creative process, from brainstorming to conceptual development, thereby contributing creative strategies 
  • Continually raise the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action 
  • Develop high-level creative platforms as well as specific executions within those platforms 
  • Have fun, try new things and never be afraid to ask “What if…?”
  • 3-5 Years of agency experience within a creative department 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work, adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with demonstrated experience in conceptual writing in marketing or advertising, Web, product, brand messaging and promotional copy 
  • Experience in an environment working with marketing, advertising or PR campaigns, print and social media preferred 
  • Ability to think strategically and conceptualize creatively 
  • Strong presentation and verbal communication skills 
  • Culturally in-tune and up to date on social media trends 
  • Comfortable concepting anything from an organic TikTok campaign to a tradeshow event stunt
  • Highly collaborative but able to work independently 
  • Have pride in your previous work and can demonstrate how you brought it to life

  • Have experience working in the outdoors space or on niche lifestyle brands 
  • Are passionate about living an adventurous lifestyle and enjoy outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, boating, camping, hiking, kayaking, biking, etc.
