Brand Project Specialist – Animal Nutrition

This role is critical to the success of the animal nutrition marketing function at Land O’Lakes and how we achieve our goal of being a high functioning, performance focused growth engine for the company. This role supports the business by establishing and implementing project management as well as light administrative support to the Animal Nutrition Brand Marketing team.

The ideal candidate will have the energy, enthusiasm, attention to detail and work ethic to dive in and get things done working closely with the Animal Nutrition Brand marketing team. Driving forward key initiatives and bringing structure to our processes. This role will contribute to building our brands via finding improved efficiency, accountability and orchestration within the group. This role will take on centralized ownership of marketing services such as print vendor relationships, e-store orchestration, asset archival, and other marketing utilities critical to the success of our team.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Aggregation of monthly communications: Orchestrate the monthly process for share out of marketing news and programs (Purina News and Dealer News) as well as management of our trimester and annual promotional announcements. 
  • Participate in project status and team meetings with animal nutrition brand marketing partners and cross-functional teams, with a focus on helping generate action plans and maintain project schedules where gaps or opportunities are identified. 
  • Support scheduling and arrange meetings as they relate to the progression of a particular project or initiative with cross-team implications (i.e., ensure all collaboration points are scheduled, approval meetings are scheduled, etc.). 
  • Oversight of centralized marketing services: This includes keeping assets accurate and up-to-date within our campaign and asset management tool, ensuring new marketing materials are made available for distribution to field teams, and serving as point of contact for our print/collateral, and event vendors. 
  • Stewardship of brand marketing centralized budget: Partnering with brand marketing managers and BU finance lead using LOL systems as appropriate. (ie. Ariba, Allocadia, others)to keep accurate tracking and accounting of shared budgets. Orchestration of quarterly review.

Required Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Technology, Journalism, Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience is preferred. 
  • 2+ years’ experience within Marketing or Communications, preferably with digital marketing, marketing operations and project management experience. 
  • Must be able to delegate to and influence peers and manage up appropriately. 
  • Show a curiosity about technology developments in modern marketing, and a strong ability to explore and learn new solutions and software (life-long learner). 
  • Must be able to simplify complex projects into appropriate sub-tasks. 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet business priorities. 
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. 
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organization and project management skills. 
  • Desire to work independently and in a team environment with ability to learn quickly and adapt to change. 
  • Excellent proofreading skills and grammar skills. 
  • Critical eye for consistency and communications effectiveness. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.

ESSENTIAL WORK FUNCTIONS:

  • Comfort working within ambiguity and an ability to bring clarity and formulate a path forward 
  • Comfort working in a relatively flat org structure. 
  • A ‘chip in’ mentality shared by all levels. 
  • Must be able to work in a hybrid environment - self prioritizing and time managing. 
  • No travel required with the exception periodic team meetings (if remote).
