One-in-seven people in eastern Wisconsin do not know where their next meal is coming from. Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is the largest hunger-relief organization in the state and last year we distributed 27,000,000 pounds of food to our member agencies who provided it to families and individuals in need. Join our team and your work will impact the amount of fresh, nutritious food available to vulnerable children, seniors, and adults.

You will help raise public awareness and support for the organization and our mission as we work toward our vision of a hunger-free Wisconsin. You will provide support and assistance in projects designed to raise public awareness and support for the organization and our mission, with a focus on printed materials, social media, digital media, and events.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of a strategic marketing and communications plan to build positive brand awareness, understanding, and support of the Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin mission
  • Support the design and creation of annual reportProject manage e-newsletters and other written communications.
  • Manage digital strategy, including social media and other digital communications
  • Manage website (Knowledge of Wordpress preferred)
  • Write stories and copy for printed materials, e-newsletters, website, and social media
  • Project manage marketing collateral (e.g. posters, postcards, flyers, ads)
  • Assist with logistics and execution of campaigns and events
  • Act as external spokesperson, as necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (Journalism, Marketing or Communications preferred)
  • Two - four years minimum communications or marketing experience
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the organization professionally and create positive relationships
  • Strong knowledge of social media, website content management systems, and email communication
  • Knowledge of Adobe products (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
  • Strong relationship building and networking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office

  • Valid Driver’s license, proof of insurance and transportation to support work activities
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and/or evenings as required for special events
  • Ability to bend, twist, climb and reach above shoulders, kneel, squat, sit, and stand
  • Ability to see, talk and hear to exchange accurate information with internal and external individuals
  • Ability to use keyboard, manipulate objects or controls, and reach with hands and arms
