The Communications Strategist reports to the director of strategic communications, and supports ProHealth Care’s branding efforts by creating compelling content designed to resonate with key audiences, drive internal and external awareness of the health care system, website traffic, patient acquisition and patient loyalty.

The communications strategist reports to the director of strategic communications, and supports ProHealth Care’s branding efforts by creating compelling content designed to resonate with key audiences, drive internal and external awareness of the health care system, website traffic, patient acquisition and patient loyalty. The team member will be a reporter and storyteller, working to create bonds between key audiences and the system.

Hours:

The Strategic Communications office is open Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Some schedule flexibility can be accommodated with the shift beginning at 7 a.m. through 9 a.m. if needed.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, journalism, communications, public relations or a related field.

Experience:

Four or more years of communications experience in a corporate or agency setting with emphasis on written communication.

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills and understanding of AP style.
  • Ability to concept, research, write, edit and proofread content designed to support the system’s strategic and growth initiativesand reach key audiences.
  • Desire to work in a dynamic team environment with a high level of project and program diversity.
  • Attention to detail and an ability to complete tasks in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Exceptional judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential issues. Comfort working collaboratively as well as autonomously.
  • Demonstrated ability to managing multiple projects simultaneously while working effectively under the pressure of multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Able to navigate complex and time-sensitive matters.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex medical and scientific information for a consumer audience.
  • Willingness to assist with both routine and unanticipated projects.
  • Experience working with Microsoft and Adobe software as well as project management and content management systems.
