Northwestern Media, a network of 21 stations in 13 markets within ten states, is looking for a gifted and experienced digital media expert who will assist in every aspect of Northwestern’s digital media strategic direction. The Director of Digital Media must resonate with our mission to lead people to Christ and nurture believers in their spiritual growth through Christ-centered media and be committed to providing exceptional work and leading an effective team with excellence.

Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in developing the strategic direction for digital media at Northwestern Media (NWM) 
  • Establish social media, website, and email marketing strategies to support station and marketing strategic goals 
  • Work with the Director of Network Marketing to implement digital marketing campaigns 
  • Manage digital media metrics, reporting, and optimization 
  • Manage digital media production and quality control across all brands 
  • Provide project management and direction for digital media projects at NWM 
  • Supervise and provide direction to members of the digital media team 
  • Advise and train station staff on digital media production 
  • Be available as a resource to the station staff when needed to assist in planning and implementation of strategies and tactics when necessary 
  • Manage technical infrastructure for digital media platforms in conjunction with IT 
  • Manage relationships with external developers hired to handle complex development projects 
  • Manage digital media knowledge base 
  • Assess and provide direction for new interactive media initiatives 
  • Scan the interactive media landscape; assess new technologies and trends related to marketing and media distribution.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, or related field required 
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience required 
  • Supervisory experience required 
  • Blackbaud Luminate or similar product experience preferred 
  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people within and outside of Northwestern; and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, doctrinal statement and Declaration of Christian Community.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in a variety of areas 
  • In depth knowledge of Marketing automation 
  • Skilled in social media management 
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics with ability to optimize utilization 
  • Ability to work both in a team environment and independently, without close supervision 
  • Ability to prioritize work completing projects accurately and within deadlines 
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency with knowledge of website, email, and social media best practices 
  • Knowledge and understanding of a broadcast environment preferred 
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills 
  • Ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment
