The Marketing and Communications Coordinator assists with the development, execution and coordination of marketing, communications and promotional plan tactics for ASA meetings, membership, initiatives and education. Under the supervision of the Marketing and Communications Manager, this position implements specific promotional tactics (including emails, social media, print and electronic ads, direct mail, web content and more) on time and monitors metrics and other available data to ensure campaigns are successful and adjusts as necessary to ensure revenue and other goals are on target.

Primary Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the creation and internal communication of promotional plans for ASA educational products, meetings/events, membership and initiatives. 
  • Execute marketing and communications plans and assist in the development and coordination of promotional materials e.g., direct mail, brochures, web content, emails, videos, etc. 
  • Coordinate campaign logistics (and tactics) to ensure all elements are on message – reflect member value - and are deployed on time per established schedules/promotional plans. 
  • Coordinate and report on expense, revenue and budget monitoring for assigned products and projects. 
  • Use available data to assist with product pricing, placement and promotion to differentiate and better position ASA in the marketplace. 
  • Regularly report sales to ensure monthly revenue and exposure goals are met. 
  • Communicate and collaborate with necessary business units to foster understanding for marketing activity, timing and success. 
  • Identify and monitor key performance indicators for marketing campaigns to ensure marketing mix is resulting in desired web traffic and conversion rates. 
  • Utilize Google Analytics and other reporting systems to evaluate campaign effectiveness and guide campaign adjustments as needed. 
  • Stay current on innovative marketing trends that can be incorporated into ASA campaigns to help marketing effectiveness and revenue.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field preferred. 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a marketing role required. Association and/or advertising agency experience preferred. 
  • Strong and clear verbal and written communication skills required. Excellent proofreading skills required. Knowledge of AP Style a plus. 
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required. 
  • Experience with email automation systems, Google Analytics or similar, preferred. Experience with online marketing campaigns a plus. Event or product marketing a plus. 
  • Solid project management and organizational skills required. Strong attention to detail, with a focus on producing quality, error-free work. 
  • Ability to plan out a project, determine requirements, set achievable and realistic deadlines, mange expectations, manage change and deliver results. 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at various stages is essential. 
  • Significant interest in learning marketing best practices and communication principles for the business of associations. 
  • Strong service and quality orientation to clients, colleagues and members.

Travel Required:

  • Yes. Up to 10% air travel required.
