Aspire is looking for a Marketing and PR Coordinator to raise awareness for the Aspire brand and promote our bold and enterprising initiatives. If you’re excited by the idea of writing eblasts that inspire, can whip up social media that makes people engage and create a newsworthy pitch that media can’t help but cover, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. In this position, you’ll project manage everything external from fundraising campaigns to product launches. Often, you work with team members across the organization on a multitude of projects at once. The Coordinator will ensure that all marketing and communications are consistent with Aspire’s brand, vision, and strategies. You’ll enjoy making things happen and fast!

Position Responsibilities:

  • Project managing all aspects of marketing activities and campaigns and assist in strategies 
  • Manage and grow email marketing and social media accounts 
  • Create engaging content, including copy, photos, videos and limited graphic design for multiple channels – web, social, email, print and earned media 
  • Partner with the Philanthropy team on digital fundraising efforts and special events, including Giving Tuesday and Aspire’s Big City Night Gala 
  • Write and create or reviewing and approving marketing collateral, like newsletters, brochures and impact reports 
  • Update website and responding to frequent photo requests 
  • Generate newsworthy pitch ideas and securing coverage in local and national media; coordinating award submissions and speaking engagements 
  • Prepare reports on marketing activities progress and effectiveness 
  • Building and strengthening relationships with community partners to generate awareness of programs and services
  • Energetic, self-directed and flexible individual with a creative approach 
  • Bachelor degree in marketing/communications, journalism or related area 
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in public relations and/or marketing 
  • Previous experience managing email marketing and social media accounts 
  • Flawless writing, communication and presentation skills 
  • Ability to grasp and communicate brand identity 
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills 
  • Understanding of production process in the design and development of print, web, email, social and video, as well as measurement 
  • Creativity – someone who isn’t afraid to pitch a new idea and turn it into something great! 
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends for occasional fundraising events, campaigns and committee meetings 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation 
  • Experience, professional or volunteer, in the not-for-profit arena is a plus 
  • Agency experience not required, but a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Email marketing platforms and analytics, social media analytics and social media advertising, Google ads, ecommerce, managing vendors, graphic design, photography, video editing and production, Photoshop, design, Wordpress and SEO.
