Job Summary:

The marketing communications specialist supports and promotes the work of our Lions members and the contributions of the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) to local and regional humanitarian initiatives. The specialist is responsible for managing and developing communications for LCIF. The specialist also provides strategic public relations counsel and assists in media relations activities for LCIF, as well as leads and participates in various communications initiatives, including marketing campaigns, event planning, and fundraising campaigns.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage communications, communications strategy and public relations for Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF). 
  • Research, write, edit and distribute print and electronic communications, including newsletters, blog posts, social media posts, LION Magazine stories, and others. 
  • Write, edit and distribute press releases and speeches for key LCIF announcements and events. 
  • Assist in event planning for LCIF at our International Convention and develop convention materials, presentations and videos. 
  • Manage content development for LCIF’s annual report. 
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations to support Lion leaders at regional and international conferences. 
  • Lead or participate in communication and PR projects with LCIF partners, including planning and messaging. 
  • Assist in the development of new LCIF multimedia projects, including photo and video projects, and manage existing LCIF multimedia assets. 
  • Create and update LCIF publications and materials, working with a graphic designer on the layout. 
  • Update and edit the LCIF website to include new photos, information, grants, publications and statistics on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university (preferably in communications, public relations, journalism or English) or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in corporate communications, public relations, advertising or journalism.
