A self-motivated individual can successfully perform this position from anywhere and this position is currently 100% remote, subject to potential adjustment post-COVID-19 pandemic (in office work as needed). Our headquarters is located in Arlington Heights, IL.

What You Will Do:

  • Manages all ASPS/PSF meeting and webinar promotion and branding work, including Plastic Surgery The Meeting, Spring Meeting, Coding Workshop, Oral Board Course and more 
  • Develops messaging streams and marketing automation programs to create a nurturing funnel to drive meeting registration sales to the most eligible customer bases for each program 
  • Develops strategies to expand charitable contributions to The PSF and promotes both its research grant, general fundraising, and targeted fundraising initiatives such as the Breast Reconstruction Awareness Campaign 
  • Oversees and assists Marketing Associate in the planning and developing of all necessary graphic design, convention booth and signage and promotional messaging related to developing and promoting the Society's and Foundation's programs

Essential Duties:

  • Manage multiple projects, establish project priorities, and meet tight deadlines 
  • Think creatively and possess strong knowledge of the creative process 
  • Work daily in Asana Project Management system to triage new marketing requests and ensure that marketing programs are on budget and on schedule 
  • Monitor Meeting and Development budget goals and adjust marketing plans as needed to achieve goals 
  • Develop integrated marketing plans for promotion of ASPS meetings and PSF grant and charitable fund development programs and research new promotional strategies to achieve budget goals 
  • Work with Education and Foundation project managers in the creative development of marketing communication strategies to efficiently achieve revenue goals 
  • Help maintain a consistent graphic identity on internal and external projects 
  • Manage design projects for brochures, advertisements, postcards, special event program books and other publications. 
  • Work with ASPS Design team to develop logos, charts, cover images, website banners, convention signage and booth displays as needed 
  • Proactively participate in project meetings to suggest design and messaging direction that complements the defined strategies 
  • Architect, write and enact successful marketing automation strategies to improve member product use and retention and provide the right message to the right audience at the right time 
  • Evaluate effectiveness of campaigns using analytics; test and monitor campaign metrics and recommend improvements

What You Will Need:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing-communications or comparable experience

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in writing-intensive roles in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment related to marketing or advertising 
  • Strong skills in copyediting, proofreading, and writing required 
  • Self-starter motivation and desire to innovate and develop new strategies a must 
  • Previous agency experience is a plus 
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry is beneficial, and a willingness and aptitude to learn more is vital 
  • Experience in SharePoint and Asana (collaboration tools), Aptify (association management software), Adestra and or Marketo (bulk e-mail software), Sprout Social and Hootsuite (social media management software) or other customer-management systems is also helpful 
  • Outstanding writing, editing and proofreading skills 
  • Strong project management skills working with multiple groups to gain buy-in and approvals 
  • Experience budgeting and creating marketing and communications plans 
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines 
  • Experience with email campaign coordination and execution using marketing automation or email marketing tools 
  • Proven digital marketing research and analysis experience 
  • Strong knowledge of the marketing communication process – research, planning, promotion and evaluation 
  • Proficient w/Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) 
  • Working knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and mid-level HTML, social media 
  • Familiarity with AP Stylebook and/or Chicago Manual of Style are also required. 
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with peers and cross-functional teams
