The Role:

The Marketing Manager, Innovation will be responsible for generating and executing the innovation & renovation pipeline across the company’s consumer brands. This role will focus on identifying consumer insights to create compelling new products or renovations that create new benefits or claims in a consumer-centric, efficient and cost effective way. This role will involve significant cross functional partnership, particularly with the Operations and R&D teams to bring to life these innovation and renovation initiatives.

What You Will Do:

  • Assess opportunities for growth, solidify clear strategies, develop innovation solutions to deliver sustainable brand and profitability growth. 
  • Lead all aspects of concept/idea development, including trends, target consumer, insights, benefit, price and cost. 
  • Be comfortable not only leveraging trends, insights and data from multiple sources to inform new product ideas and sizing opportunities; but to also initiate and manage market research projects to gain the insights. 
  • Lead all Design to Value initiatives from a marketing and business perspective to ensure product optimizations are developed with a consumer & customer perspective at the forefront. 
  • Prepare persuasive sales and internal communication materials, to sell-in innovation pipeline strategy and new product ideas to key internal stakeholders 
  • Work to gain a deep understanding of the company’s production capabilities to effectively partner with operations in understanding how innovation/renovation can be executed. 
  • Collaborate closely with brand teams to ensure all new items in development fit with each brands’ purpose and priorities. 
  • Initiate and manage market research projects to deliver powerful consumer and shopper insights to facilitate continued brand growth.

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven ability to develop and lead execution of innovation pipeline from concept to launch 
  • Previously led cross-functional team through new product development processes 
  • Experience & exposure to a variety of market research techniques 
  • Proven brand business building, critical thinking, and marketing thought leadership—ability to craft ideas & recommendations based on consumer insights required 
  • Creating and reading data analysis, together with consumer and category insights to identify new opportunities. 
  • Strong agility and problem-solving skills – proven ability to work within the grey. 
  • Prior experience managing Design to Value projects a plus 
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams and projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment 
  • Ability to balance art & science – think differently yet with a pragmatic business mindset 
  • 5+ years’ experience in brand or product management in a CPG environment 
  • Must have new product innovation experience
