Kalmbach Publishing Co. is seeking an experienced sales person to join our Trade Sales team. The ideal candidate will have strong sales experience with proven sales success. In addition, we will be looking for strong communication & organizational skills. We develop long term relationships with our customers by consultative selling and exceptional customer service.

This position reports to a Trade Sales and Books Manager. Position will generate sales for KPC products, books, magazines and distributed titles. The majority of sales are achieved with outbound and inbound phone sales to retailer and wholesalers, as well as trade show attendance and minimal one-on-one sales calls. You are responsible for servicing the customer account pre and post sales, working with internal departments and systems to insure order is correctly implemented. Manage existing accounts as well as generate new account activity.

Requirements:
  • Previous/demonstrated knowledge of sales techniques and practices. PC proficient with a working familiarity of the Internet and email.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to meet daily deadlines while coordinating multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and via the phone. 90% of client contact is by phone or email and establishing long lasting customer relationships is critical!
  • Creativity in dealing with existing base clients and prospecting for new customers.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills. This position interacts with a variety of internal customers from Marketing, Credit, and Distribution so candidates should have the ability to work effectively with all functions.
  • Good analytical abilities will help when reporting and analyzing results and providing information to customers.
  • A healthy curiosity about our customers, the markets we serve, trends, email marketing, and the Hobby market.

At least three plus years related work experience/internships, degree in business or marketing a plus.
