This Senior Marketing Manager role is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the marketing team responsible for key distribution partner US Foods and managing the US Foods exclusive distributor brand portfolio. This role will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy for this $80M+ business with tremendous growth potential. S/he will manage a team of marketers and will be the main point of contact for the US Foods Distribution sales team which helps drive sales through one of our largest distributor partners. This includes working with Sales, Finance and RD&E to drive sales, activate distributor salesforce, establish co-marketing programs and set portfolio strategy with the right innovation which solves customer needs, specifically in the Foodservice segment.

This role is highly cross-functional and will be the marketing leader amongst the distribution business so it is an opportunity to see all aspects of a business and how a distribution business fits within a larger division. It will require significant collaboration with other functions (marketing, sales, finance, Supply Chain, RD&E, etc.), strong business acumen, communication within all levels of the organization and strong customer and sales understanding. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication, collaboration and leadership abilities, passion for customers, high energy and commitment to help drive growth.

Main Responsibilities:

Delivering growth through Customer Marketing & Sales team partnership

  • Understand customer value drivers to help develop Gain, Grow and Retain sales initiatives 
  • Provide Ecolab sales team with leadership and marketing strategy, including sales tools, training, competitive intelligence and actionable reporting 
  • Partner with distribution sales team to help drive DSR engagement, onboarding and excitement to drive Ecolab sales

Business strategy

  • In partnership with Distribution Sales, Finance and distributors, develop long-term growth strategy 
  • Strong business understanding and ability to articulate what role distribution plays within the Institutional business and identify broader opportunities 
  • Day-to-day portfolio and P&L management, including but not limited to forecasting, monthly performance reporting and innovation tracking 
  • Identify portfolio gaps and initiate new innovation opportunities

Team leadership & Coaching

  • Provide timely and valuable feedback and coaching to team 
  • Collaborate with critical functions, including sales, finance, R&D, etc. 
  • Perform annual performance reviews, manage IDP conversations 
  • On-board new marketing associates

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years professional sales & marketing experience; or MBA with 5+ years of professional sales & marketing experience 
  • Experience working in a matrix environment

  • Proven ability to work independently while handling multiple tasks 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and navigate matrix organizations to achieve business results 
  • Ability to exhibit team leadership; motivate and inspire teams to achieve their highest potential and communicate a sense of vision and mission.
