Boeing’s Communications function is seeking a Senior Enterprise Performance & Strategy Communications Manager to join our team in Chicago, IL. The selected candidate will lead and oversee communications for the Enterprise Performance & Strategy teams, two important pillars of the larger Finance, Enterprise Performance, and Strategy (FEPS) organization.

You will be driving internal and external communications strategies for a number of highly impactful areas of Boeing. This role supports a number of senior Boeing leaders in the areas of ‘Enterprise Performance’, which includes the Vice Presidents for Total Enterprise Quality (TEQ) and Enterprise Program & General Management (PM/GM). The role also provides communications support to the ‘Enterprise Strategy’ function, which includes Boeing’s Horizon X team that unlocks the next generation of game-changing ideas, products, and markets through its venture and market development arms.

You’ll be leading a team of communication specialists who participate as active members of the respective leadership teams for TEQ, PM/GM and Enterprise Strategy. This senior manager (M-level) role will be located in Chicago, IL and report directly to Boeing’s Vice President of Communications for Finance, Enterprise Performance, and Strategy (FEPS).

This highly strategic, agile Communications leader will work with senior business and functional leaders as well as communications peers to deliver results in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of communications specialists in developing and executing communications plans, providing regular coaching, performance management, and career development. 
  • Understanding business objectives, strategies, and market conditions affecting all areas of Boeing’s business. 
  • Developing internal and external communications plans that integrate closely with several other areas of Boeing, including the broader FEPS communications team and ‘centers of excellence’ in media relations, employee communications, digital, and branding. 
  • Providing regular executive communications support and strategic counsel, such as speech-writing, message writing, webcast and multimedia production, media training, and other support in communicating to internal and external audiences. 
  • Enhancing the visibility of our internal business partners by building internal and external networks, developing plans for speaking engagements, media communications, etc. 
  • Partnering very closely with other related Communications leaders, especially in the area of Quality and enterprise Operational Excellence.

The successful candidate will be a strong team player who is excited to join a newly formed and expanding Finance, Enterprise Performance & Strategy communications team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher 
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English 
  • 10+ years' experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint) 
  • 10+ years' experience in developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and business partners 
  • 10+ years' experience developing communications strategies including executive speeches, employee communications, news releases, videos and web content 
  • 5+ years' experience in a leadership role leading diverse teams, initiatives, or projects to meet business objectives and influence change 
  • 5+ years' experience leading and influencing people in a matrix organization 
  • 5+ years' experience working with sensitive information and safeguarding confidential information
  • Experience managing digital communications and social media

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience completing process oriented tasks accurately and in an organized manner 
  • Self-starter who creates and implements job-related solutions and procedures
