Corporate Communications:

Our Corporate Communications department manages relationships with the media and shares information about the company both externally and to our employees worldwide.

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

This position will proactively and confidently engage stakeholders and key influencers to create opportunities to shape United’s public image and build United’s brand in key markets around the world. This position will be an integral member of United’s Corporate Communications team and will conceive, manage and implement communications campaigns to promote the United brand both externally and internally, and capitalize on every opportunity to promote United in local, national, and international media.

  • Work collaboratively to build United’s brand through creative and strategic Media Relations initiatives
  • Develop messaging and amplification strategies for key initiatives
  • Utilize expertise in news-making, messaging management and impact measurement
  • Collaborate closely and effectively with peer groups to advance a common message

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field 
  • Experience translating complex messages into relevant and compelling media stories 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high intellect, collaborative global environment with high performance expectations and ownership of results 
  • Minimum of 2 years of corporate communications experience developing media material, talking points and key messages 
  • Experience working collaboratively across departments 
  • Ability to develop messaging, and integrated communications plans and strategies 
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively and clearly for both internal and external audiences 
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in cross-functional teams 
  • Ability to interface with all levels of employees and management as well as with outside agencies 
  • Analytical thought process with high integrity 
  • Execution and process oriented, forward thinking, diligent and creative 
  • Capacity to deliver against quality, timing and cost targets 
  • Trustworthy with material confidential information 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship 
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification 
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
